About The Book

1n December 1938, twenty boys from The Vienna Mozart Boys Choir and their Choir Master, Dr Georg Gruber, set off for a nine-month tour from Vienna to America, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia. Finishing their tour in Perth, Australia, on the 3rd of September they stood at the dock ready to set sail home. Germany had invaded Poland in the second world war; therefore, Australia was also at war. The Archbishop in Melbourne, Dr Daniel Mannix wanted the boys to sing in his choir and in return found foster families and schooling.  What was to follow was An Unfinished Journey.

My name is Suzanne Kruys, along with my brother, Philip Strommer, we started writing a story about our Dad, Herbert Strommer, who was in The Vienna Mozart Boys Choir. We started writing the story for our family but ended up writing the whole story of the Choir and Dr Georg Gruber as we knew most of the members. We are two of ten siblings. Five boys and five girls. We all had different stories to tell which makes for a better read. This is our first book, and we are excited to get it published. It really is an amazing story. I am a mother of four and eight grandchildren. I live at the Gold Coast and Phillip lives in Victoria.
